Department of Computing & Informatics

Welcome to the Department of Computing and Informatics.

We are committed to preparing students for a rapidly transforming digital and media-driven world. Our programs are carefully designed to align with current industry demands, emerging technologies, and future global trends.

Our Programmes and Industry Alignment

Computer Science
Our Computer Science program focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Algorithm Design. Students engage with emerging trends such as AI-powered systems, automation, blockchain technologies, and quantum computing concepts. We strengthen industry engagement through tech bootcamps, hackathons, research collaborations, and partnerships with technology firms.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
ICT equips students with practical skills in networking, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, and digital transformation solutions. With the rise of smart systems, Internet of Things (IoT), 5G connectivity, and cybersecurity threats, our students participate in industrial attachments, certification programs, and hands-on lab simulations aligned with global standards.

Software Development
This programme prepares students for modern software engineering practices including full-stack development, mobile applications, DevOps, Agile methodologies, and cloud-native applications. Students engage in real-world projects, startup incubation, and collaborative innovation programs to meet the growing demand for scalable and secure digital solutions.

Broadcast Journalism
As media rapidly transitions to digital platforms, this programme integrates digital storytelling, multimedia reporting, podcasting, and data journalism. Students engage with media houses, digital content creators, and broadcasting networks while exploring trends such as AI in newsrooms, fact-checking technologies, and online audience analytics.

Multimedia Production
This course blends creativity with technology, focusing on digital content creation, animation, video production, graphic design, and interactive media. Students are exposed to emerging trends such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), immersive storytelling, and AI-assisted content production, with industry mentorship and studio-based practical training.

Library and Information Management
Modern libraries are evolving into digital knowledge hubs. This programme emphasizes digital archiving, information systems management, data curation, research support services, and knowledge management. Students engage with trends such as digital repositories, AI-driven cataloguing, open-access systems, and information security in data governance.

As a department, we prioritize:

-Industry partnerships and collaborative research

-Professional certification pathways

-Innovation hubs and incubation support

-Ethical technology development

-Community-driven digital transformation

Our goal is to produce graduates who are not only job-ready but future-ready — innovators, critical thinkers, and ethical leaders capable of shaping tomorrow’s digital society.
