Today the 30th of August 2024 TENP hosted the 14th Africa Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) conference, under the theme ‘’Role of RCE’s in climate Action, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and Sustainable Development Goals”.
The event brought together participants from the Africa RCE community and around the world. The notable participants were Dr. Akpezi Ogbuigwe from Nigeria, who is the United Nations University (UNU) RCE’s Regional Adviser for the region of Africa, Prof. Pierluigi Bozzi from Italy who is affliated to the  International university Network on cultural Biological Diversity, Prof Samson Kofi Kye of the Kumasi Technical University, Ghana, Dr. William Theanyi Eke of the University of Port Harcourt Nigeria, Dr. Adeolu Odusote from Nigeria, John Linus from UNESCO among other prominent personalities.
The team was hosted by Dr. Catherine Mbaisi the Deputy Director Environmental Education and Awareness at National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and Prof. Vincent Sudoi of the University of Eldoret.
At the Eldoret National Polytechnic the African Youth deliberated on the role of youth in climate action, ESD and SDGs and forged a unified approach to the challenges of achieving Sustainability.
During the forum the Chief Principal reiterated the commitment of TENP to Climate Action, Environmental conservation and the achievement of the UN goals for sustainable development.
He stated that TVET institutions and more specifically the Eldoret National Polytechnic plays a key role in providing knowledge and skills to facilitate the transition to greener economies and societies.
